Scope of the position
The Segment Manager - Industrial Door & Gate Sensors (IDGS) holds full responsibility for the performance of the IDGS segment across BEA Americas, including revenue growth, market share expansion, and overall profitability. This role covers North America, with alignment into broader regional opportunities where applicable, and focuses on industrial door, high-speed door, gate, logistics, parking, and access control applications. The position supports a diverse customer base including OEMs, gate manufacturers, industrial integrators, distributors, and wholesale partners.
The role is accountable for delivering annual revenue targets and driving sustained growth within the segment. It includes direct leadership of assigned outside sales resources, along with strong matrix leadership across product management, marketing, and technical teams. The IDGS Segment Manager also plays a key role in shaping the product roadmap, prioritizing applications, and defining channel strategy to support long-term segment expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Segment Strategy & Growth: Define and execute the IDGS segment strategy to drive revenue growth, market share, and long-term profitability across industrial and gate applications.
Market and Application Development: Identify and prioritize key applications and verticals and translate market insights into targeted growth initiatives.
Customer and Channel Leadership: Build strong relationships with OEM, distribution, and wholesale partners, developing channel strategies to maximize growth and alignment.
Product and Innovation Influence: Define segment needs and help develop the product roadmap, with Product Management and R&D on new product development and launches.
Sales Leadership and Execution: Guide and support sales teams in pipeline development, account development, and closing key opportunities within the segment.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, R&D, Technical Services, and Customer Support to ensure consistent execution and customer satisfaction.
Training & Enablement: Lead segment-specific training and provide tools, messaging, and support to strengthen internal teams and partner capabilities.
Performance Management: Establish and track segment KPIs (revenue, market share, pipeline, product adoption) and adjust strategies as needed.
Global Collaboration: Partner with BEA Europe and Asia to share market intelligence, align on opportunities, and support global segment development.
Requirements Degree(s) or certification(s) :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or technology sector.
Professional experience required (min.):
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic growth initiatives in sales, marketing, or segment management
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing key customer relationships
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Technical Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of the sensor market and related technologies; experience in automatic doors, access control, industrial applications, or adjacent industries preferred
  • Ability to understand technical product requirements and translate customer needs into business and product strategies

IT skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience with virtual collaboration tools (Zoom)
