As Marketing Segment Manager, you will create the roadmap for success for the rest of the organization to follow in establishing leadership in chosen vertical market segments (Where to Play, How to Win). The Segment Manager is responsible for developing, articulating, and driving market segment strategy with the goal of improving revenue and profitability. They will work closely with other functional and businesses areas to drive strategy and align across organization on key priorities for segment, develop and manage lead generation initiatives, identify product portfolio gaps, and execute go-to-market strategies to achieve, growth targets. This role may also leverage Amcor's successes achieved across Amcor's global network to help establish Amcor as a market leader in chosen segment.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Market Segmentation, Positioning and Performance

  • Understand the market landscape and create specific plans to compete:
    • Market segmentation, sizing, trends and performance analysis of areas.
    • Identification of segment and customer white spaces
    • Competitive assessments and positioning
    • Collaboration with product management, commercial pricing, and commercial excellence teams to effectively execute actions that reduce cost and increase profitability

Market Insights

  • Lead initiatives to gain customer and end-user insights, helping to select and position marketing efforts:
    • Identify and manage relationship with external intelligence resources
    • Perform Voice of Customer engagement studies for new strategic initiatives
    • Identify market and segment trends expected to impact dynamics within packaging market
    • Collaborate with other Amcor business to create unique value propositions as ONE Amcor

Market Strategy and Execution

  • Lead cross-functional development long-term strategic plan associated with targeted market segment
  • Cooperate with the Amcor leadership team on developing and executing go-to-market strategies that deliver compelling value propositions to the marketplace and secure business growth within the market segment
  • Cultivate relationships with key customers to expand and deepen Amcor's engagement
  • Collaborate with marketing and R&D communities across Amcor's global network to identify pockets of growth led by market and/or product innovation
  • Work with a select group of customers to create unique value propositions specific to Amcor's product offering and segment growth plans.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $98,000 to $122,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $98,000 to $147,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
