STATUS: Non-exempt, 37.5 hours / SEASONAL (approximately Sept.-May)

HOURLY RATE: $16.00

SUMMARY

This is a high-profile position providing reception and information services, as well as clerical support for the HEAP energy assistance team located at Lifespan.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greets and screens all energy assistance walk-in clients.

2. Accepts completed applications and assists clients with application questions.

3. Responsible for organizing and tracking all applications, including screening and sorting a large volume of mail and incoming faxes.

4. Maintains government-regulated monitoring systems/reports.

5. Answers large volume of telephone calls to provide program process and access information, as well as application status.

6. Provides general clerical support for staff and clients.

7. Organizes and prepares materials for mailing

8. Filing and scanning.

9. Maintains and orders office equipment and supplies.

10. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Associates Degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of clerical experience and basic computer skills required.

Experience with the older adult population preferred.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Strong verbal, written and telephone communication skills are required.

Ability to multi-task in a busy, stressful environment.

Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.

Must be able to lift, stand and bend for filing purposes.

Ability to work in multi-cultural situations.

Ability to work in a team environment.
