St. Ann's Community is currently looking for an evening per diem receptionist/facilities assistant for the beautiful Independent Living Facility, Chapel Oaks, located on the Irondequoit campus.
The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety and security of Chapel Oaks residents, staff, and physical assets. To help maintain the Chapel Oaks community center and to perform minor emergency maintenance.
St. Ann's Community Offers:

Job Description:
• Relieves the Concierge at 5pm and becomes fully knowledgeable as to the operation and procedures of Chapel Oaks reception and systems.
• Reports for duty with a neat, professional appearance and in proper uniform.
• Observes any safety hazards or problems and reports these situations promptly.
• Always acts within the laws, codes, rules, or regulations of New York State and other governing agencies.
• Coordinates emergency responses.
• Familiarizes and learns operation of all pertinent equipment such as CCTV cameras, ID systems, alarm panels, fire equipment and elevator operations among others.
• Responsible for knowledge of facility layout.
• Performs duties such as vacuuming rugs and moving furniture, sweeping and mopping.
• Sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning fixtures in lavatories & supplying paper goods in Community Center.
• Assists in performing minor maintenance.
• Assist in some set-ups for functions.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
• Proper use of all equipment, maintain and report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
• Fills out all required reports and forms for each tour of duty. Informs the Director or Operations Manager of any pertinent events, information and /or actions.
• Assists with reports, training, surveys, inspections, investigations and the like.
• Attends to resident needs as per request

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED; with six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMEATICAL SKILL, AND REASONING ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
