Workiz is the leading SaaS platform for field service teams, trusted by over 120,000 pros. We help real, hard working people run and grow their businesses, with an end-to-end solution that enables them to schedule jobs, dispatch, invoice, track performance, get paid in the field, plus so much more - all in one place!
We're on a mission to revolutionize our industry by "automating everything but holding the wrench", providing our users with smart, AI-powered tools that will replace time consuming tasks, generate more revenue, and provide peace of mind, freeing our users to focus on building their small business into an empire.
Who are you?
You're a hands-on sales leader who understands that a great pipeline starts with great discovery, not just volume.
You're equally energized by:
  • Coaching SDRs into future Account Executives
  • Designing creative outbound strategies that actually break through
  • Analyzing funnel performance to unlock smarter conversion

You don't just hit targets, you build the machine that hits them.
Responsibilities
1. Pipeline Execution & Frontline Leadership
  • Drive high-quality pipeline generation by guiding the team toward effective discovery, not just activity volume
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to execute outbound and inbound strategies, not own them
  • Use day-to-day insights from the field to surface opportunities for improving conversion and messaging

2. Discovery Excellence (Player-Coach Role)
  • Coach SDRs in real time on how to uncover meaningful business pain and qualify opportunities effectively
  • Lead call reviews and live coaching sessions focused on improving discovery depth, not just script adherence
  • Reinforce strong qualification standards to ensure smoother handoffs to Account Executives
  • Act as the frontline quality control for pipeline entering the funnel

3. Creative Outreach Execution
  • Test and iterate on multi-channel outreach strategies including SMS, LinkedIn, and video prospecting
  • Share winning tactics, messaging, and personalization strategies with the team
  • Contribute to playbook development by bringing proven ideas and experiments to leadership
  • Help SDRs adapt outreach approaches to better engage field-based operators

4. Market & Segment Awareness
  • Help SDRs tailor conversations based on trade-specific nuances (HVAC, plumbing, locksmith, etc.)
  • Reinforce ICP understanding and messaging alignment across different customer segments
  • Share frontline feedback on what messaging resonates (and what doesn't) within each vertical
  • Support the execution of segment-focused campaigns

5. SDR Development & AE Readiness Support
  • Support the development of SDRs into future AEs through hands-on coaching and mentorship
  • Reinforce core AE-readiness skills, including:
  • Discovery and qualification
  • Business acumen
  • Intro-level product storytelling
  • Participate in training initiatives (e.g., mock calls, mini-demos), while partnering with leadership on structure and rollout
  • Provide ongoing feedback on individual readiness for promotion

6. Team Performance & Accountability
  • Help drive daily execution through stand-ups, power hours, and activity tracking
  • Monitor team performance and flag risks or gaps to leadership early
  • Reinforce CRM hygiene and adherence to processes within HubSpot
  • Contribute to a high-energy, accountable, and collaborative team culture

This is a hybrid role working Tues, Wed and Thurs in our San Diego office and Mon and Fri working remote.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of high-performing SDR/BDR experience
  • Minimum of 1+ year of demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, or leading a pod/team
  • Proven experience managing full sales cycle
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coach messaging and objection handling
  • Comfortable working in HubSpot/Salesforce with task queues, sequences, and reporting
  • Proven ability to maintain pipeline hygiene and enforce process discipline

Bonus Points:
  • Experience building/refining outbound sequences, scripts, or call frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Hubspot, Salesforce, Salesloft, Outreach, Orum, ZoomInfo, or Gong
  • SaaS or field-service industry experience (HVAC, Plumbing, Construction, Locksmith, etc.)
  • Experience managing KPIs for a small team
  • Remote leadership experience
