KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 20 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 17 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 8,300 alumni to and through college and beyond. Our award winning schools are part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network, dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners and providing the social, emotional and academic support for success in high school, college, and life.

This position operates only for the academic year (August - June) with July off/unpaid.
 
This is also a CONTINUOUS job opening with no final closing date to collect ongoing applications, fill multiple open slots, and/or build a candidate pool for anticipated openings.
Opportunity
  • Ensure that the school nutrition programs at KIPP SoCal run smoothly and safely
  • Set up arrival/dismissal
  • Set up breakfast and/or lunch area daily, including distributing meals to students (no cooking or food preparation required) and following all required procedures
  • Set up and take down play equipment and materials
  • Provide opportunities for students to play organized games during recess
  • Support and supervise students to resolve conflicts independently
  • Supervise students as they eat and play
  • Communicate with teachers and staff regarding students' behavior
  • Supports with office operations as needed
  • This is a part-time, non-exempt position
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or above preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage large groups of young children and communicate with them in a nurturing, patient, and loving manner
  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to KIPP SoCal Schools and its values
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
$20 - $20 an hour
