Job description

The Sales Operations Specialist plays a key role in managing the operational execution and business performance of an assigned portfolio of categories & subcategories. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day sales operations tasks, including forecast maintenance, inventory management, purchase order execution, trade spend tracking, and business performance analysis. The role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to maintain operational alignment, highlight risks and opportunities, and support delivery against revenue and inventory goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational activities related to demand planning support, inventory monitoring, purchase order execution, and sales performance tracking
  • Prepare and maintain weekly business reporting, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Monitor promotional performance against expectations and provide input into future shipment and forecasting plans
  • Partner with Sales, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain teams to align forecasting, inventory planning, and order management activities
  • Manage forecasting inputs, pricing updates, and new item setup within internal systems
  • Participate in recurring weekly calls with customer replenishment or planning teams to review recent results and updates
  • Coordinate order timing and availability with internal supply chain partners
  • Manage trade spend tracking and ensure promotional plans are accurately reflected in forecasting tools
  • Prepare customer presentations, business reviews, and recurring operational reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Build working knowledge of assigned categories, including products, consumers, and competitors
  • Prepare monthly performance summary and analysis of sales and operational metrics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Business, Analytics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred)
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, including internships or co-ops in business analytics, supply chain, sales operations, or finance
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, forecasting, and operational problem-solving
  • Proficiency in analyzing data in Excel, with a desire to learn new systems and business tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Clear communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally and learning from others
  • Experience or exposure to large retailers or e-commerce platforms (including Amazon) is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to ~20%) for team meetings or corporate events
