Job description

Description:

ENERVEX is looking for a Sales Engineer to lead the growth and development of our commercial business throughout New England.

This is a field-based, quota-carrying sales position for someone who enjoys combining relationship development with technical, solution-based selling. You'll work directly with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors and other key partners to identify projects, influence system design and help customers develop the right solution for their application.

Our best opportunities begin well before a request for quotation. By developing strong relationships with the engineering community and staying connected to the contractors executing the work, our Sales Engineers help position ENERVEX early in the project lifecycle.

You'll have the opportunity to develop a significant territory while being supported by an experienced team of other Sales Engineers, Inside Sales professionals and application experts.

About ENERVEX

For more than three decades, ENERVEX has developed engineered solutions for commercial and industrial venting applications.

We are more than an equipment supplier. ENERVEX works with engineers and contractors to develop complete systems designed around performance, reliability, code compliance and long-term value.

Our solutions can be found in commercial buildings and other demanding applications where effective venting and mechanical draft are critical to system performance.

As ENERVEX continues to grow, we're expanding our direct presence in key markets across the country. New England represents an important opportunity to strengthen our relationships with the region's engineering and mechanical contracting communities.

Requirements:

What You'll Do

As the Sales Engineer for New England, you'll be responsible for developing the territory and growing ENERVEX's commercial business.

You'll spend much of your time working directly with consulting engineers. The goal is to understand what they're designing, provide technical and application support, and identify opportunities where ENERVEX can contribute to a better system solution.

You'll also work closely with mechanical contractors as projects progress from design through bidding and construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop strong relationships with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors and other key market partners throughout New England.
  • Identify commercial projects involving boiler venting, generator exhaust, mechanical draft and related applications.
  • Engage with projects early in the design process and work with engineers to incorporate ENERVEX solutions into their designs and specifications.
  • Conduct Lunch & Learns, technical presentations and application discussions with engineering firms.
  • Visit engineering offices, contractor locations and jobsites throughout the territory.
  • Build relationships with mechanical designers, project managers, estimators and other project decision-makers.
  • Develop a territory plan focused on the firms and accounts with the greatest opportunity and market influence.
  • Maintain consistent engagement with key accounts while continuing to develop new relationships throughout the territory.
  • Manage opportunities from initial discovery through specification, quotation, selection and close.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities.
  • Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 to document customer activity, opportunities and next steps.
  • Collaborate with ENERVEX's technical Sales Engineering team on system design, sizing and application support.
  • Partner with Inside Sales to provide responsive quoting, project coordination and customer support.
  • Participate in industry events, association meetings and other activities that strengthen ENERVEX's presence throughout New England.

The Solutions You'll Represent

ENERVEX specializes in engineered venting and mechanical draft solutions designed to give engineers greater flexibility while delivering reliable system performance.

PowerStack® Chimney Systems - Our commercial chimney and venting platform provides a high-performance solution for boiler, water heater, generator and other commercial exhaust applications, supported by ENERVEX's focus on reliability and leak-free system performance.

Mechanical Draft Systems - ENERVEX mechanical draft solutions help engineers overcome the limitations of conventional natural-draft venting while creating greater flexibility in equipment placement and vent system design.

Demand-Controlled Venting - Our controls and draft systems help maintain appropriate system performance as equipment loads and operating conditions change.

Engineered Venting Solutions - Many projects require more than selecting a product from a catalog. ENERVEX works alongside engineers and contractors to evaluate the application and develop a complete venting solution.

You won't be expected to engineer every system yourself. You'll have ENERVEX's technical Sales Engineering team behind you to support system design, sizing, specifications and more complex applications.

Your role is to understand the application, develop the relationship and bring the right ENERVEX resources into the project.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating at the intersection of technical sales and relationship development.

Experience within commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, boilers, hydronics, combustion, venting, generators, controls or related engineered building systems would translate particularly well.

An ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Experience selling technical or engineered products and solutions.
  • Familiarity with the commercial mechanical construction market.
  • Experience working with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors or both.
  • Existing relationships within the New England engineering or mechanical contracting community are highly valued.
  • An understanding of how commercial projects progress from design and specification through bidding and construction.
  • The ability to understand technical applications and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Confidence conducting presentations and Lunch & Learns for engineering audiences.
  • A proactive approach to developing new relationships and uncovering opportunities.
  • Strong organization and pipeline management skills.
  • A professional, responsive communication style.
  • Comfort traveling regularly throughout the New England territory.

A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant industry experience and a demonstrated ability to succeed in technical sales will also be strongly considered.

Why ENERVEX?

ENERVEX has spent more than 30 years building its reputation one project and one relationship at a time.

Our customers rely on us not only for equipment, but for the engineering expertise and application support behind it.

You'll join a team that believes field sales is most effective when the salesperson has strong technical resources around them. Our Inside Sales and Sales Engineering teams provide support throughout the sales process, allowing you to spend more of your time developing the market and working directly with customers.

New England offers an opportunity to build on ENERVEX's existing presence while expanding our relationships with some of the country's leading engineering firms and mechanical contractors.

For someone who enjoys technical selling, values long-term relationships and wants meaningful ownership of a territory, this is an opportunity to build something substantial with the support of an established engineered-solutions company.
