Job description

Assistant Project Manager

๐Ÿ“ Itasca, IL

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Family-Owned General Contractor | Commercial Construction | Growth Opportunity

We're partnered with a 50-year family-owned General Contractor that is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that has built its reputation on quality work, long-term client relationships, and a culture where employees are given the opportunity to grow. With a healthy backlog and continued expansion, they're investing in adding talented people who want to build a long-term career.

The company specializes in a mix of commercial interiors, exterior renovations, and ground-up construction, delivering projects throughout the Chicagoland area. Their work includes office buildouts, retail and restaurant projects, multi-tenant developments, and other commercial facilities, with most projects ranging up to $5M.

Because of the size of the projects, Assistant Project Managers play a much larger role than they would at many larger contractors. You'll gain exposure to every phase of construction while working directly alongside experienced Project Managers and company leadership.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist in managing projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Support budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
  • Work closely with field teams, clients, architects, and trade partners
  • Assist with estimating, bidding, and preconstruction activities
  • Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget

What They're Looking For:

  • Experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager with a General Contractor
  • Commercial construction experience required
  • Commercial interiors experience preferred
  • Some estimating or preconstruction exposure is a plus
  • Motivated individual looking to grow into a Project Manager role

Compensation & Benefits:

  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Base salary up to $100K + bonus potential
  • ๐ŸŒด Unlimited PTO
  • ๐Ÿฅ Company pays 70% of employee health insurance costs
  • โ˜€๏ธ Summer Friday hours with early finishes
  • ๐Ÿ“ˆ Fast-track career growth with increased project ownership
  • ๐Ÿค Family-owned culture with direct access to company leadership
  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Exposure to all aspects of project management, estimating, and operations

If you're looking for an opportunity where you'll gain hands-on experience, take on meaningful responsibility, and grow with a company that's continuing to expand, I'd love to tell you more.
