Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects from preconstruction through closeout and warranty period. This role requires strong technical knowledge, structured project management, and disciplined oversight of budgets, schedules, and documentation. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed safely, accurately, and within scope while maintaining clear communication with clients, trade partners, and the Northstar team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Planning & Coordination
  • Lead project start‑up, kick‑off, and preconstruction meetings.
  • Review plans, permits, specifications, and contracts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work and ensure alignment with trade partners and estimators.
  • Establish clear project schedules and budgets with measurable milestones.
Execution & Oversight
  • Direct and coordinate the project team (Owners, Architects, Engineers, Field, and Office).
  • Monitor progress through regular site visits, inspections, and detailed documentation.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and payment applications with precision.
  • Ensure construction activities align with schedule, budget, and safety standards.
Quality & Risk Management
  • Apply Northstar’s quality standards consistently across all work.
  • Anticipate and address issues early to prevent schedule or cost impacts.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure timely reporting.
  • Lead project closeout, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
Collaboration & Relationships
  • Maintain steady communication with clients throughout design and construction.
  • Build and sustain professional relationships with trade partners and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction.
  • Background in ground‑up, tilt‑wall, retail, office, or restaurant projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Procore and related software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage details, enforce standards, and deliver reliable results.
