Job Description

The UCaaS Sales Engineer partners with the sales and Channel teams to design, present, and support cloud communication solutions for prospective and existing customers. This role combines deep technical knowledge with strong communication skills to translate business needs into scalable UCaaS solutions. This job requires up to 50% travel for customer sites, partner visits, tradeshows, etc.
Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Support

  • Partner with Account Executives & Channel Managers to identify customer needs and technical requirements
  • Lead discovery calls to assess current telecom/IT environments, and determine future needs
  • Design tailored UCaaS solutions (VoIP, collaboration tools, contact center, API & AI integrations)
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations
Solution Design & Architecture

  • Create high-level and detailed solution designs
  • Ensure compatibility with customer infrastructure (network, security, endpoints)
  • Recommend best practices for deployment and scalability
  • Support RFP/RFI responses with technical input
Customer Engagement

  • Act as the technical advisor and trusted consultant during the sales cycle
  • Address customer concerns around reliability, security, and performance
  • Provide proof-of-concept (PoC) support and pilot deployments
Sales Collaboration

  • Support deal strategy and positioning,
  • Help articulate value propositions and ROI
  • Assist in closing deals by resolving technical objections
Post-Sales Handoff

  • Work with implementation and support teams to ensure smooth onboarding
  • Document solution architecture and customer requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • VoIP/SIP protocols
    • Networking fundamentals (QoS, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
    • Cloud platforms and SaaS delivery models
  • Experience with UCaaS platforms (e.g., RingCentral, Zoom, MS Teams, Mitel, Avaya)
  • Understanding of integrations (CRM, APIs, contact center tools)
Expert experience in Kamailio and FreeSWITCH architecture, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and high-availability deployments
Strong expertise in designing and maintaining carrier-grade VoIP/UCaaS infrastructure using Kamailio and FreeSWITCH
Experience building scalable SIP routing, SBC, multi-tenant PBX, WebRTC, and high-concurrency call environments
Hands-on experience with SIP signaling, RTP/media handling, failover architecture, load balancing, clustering, and real-time monitoring
Experience supporting large-scale deployments with thousands of concurrent calls and endpoints
Strong Linux system administration and VoIP performance optimization experience
  • Understanding of AI Tools, and an interest in being part of a leading-edge technology development
