As the parent company of BigCommerce, Feedonomics, and Makeswift, we connect the tools and systems that power growth, enabling businesses to unlock the full potential of their data, deliver seamless and personalized experiences across every channel, and adapt swiftly to an ever-changing market. We believe in harnessing AI responsibly to unlock new possibilities, and we're looking for individuals who use it intentionally to solve problems, accelerate outcomes, and expand what's possible in their role. Our purpose is to help businesses confidently solve complex commerce challenges so they can build smarter, adapt faster, and grow on their own terms. If you want to be part of a team of bold builders, sharp thinkers, and technical trailblazers who shape the future of commerce, this is the place for you.

Commerce is looking for an Enterprise Training Manager, Technical Content to join our Training team. Reporting to the Manager, Training, this role sits at the intersection of technical content ownership and enterprise training delivery. The ideal candidate will own and maintain Commerce product and developer learning content - ensuring accuracy and relevance with each platform release - while also supporting personalized training for merchants, agency partners, and internal teams.

What You'll Do:

Content Ownership & Development

  • Serve as a key contributor to the creation, maintenance, and ongoing updates of Commerce product training and technical learning content, ensuring accuracy and relevance with each platform release.

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to translate platform changes into accurate, engaging, and up-to-date learning content across all course formats.

  • Produce product and developer-focused video content - including scripting, narration, and screen recordings - covering new feature releases, commonly asked questions, and key platform capabilities to support the broader developer ecosystem.

  • Continuously discover and implement new learning techniques and adult learning best practices to maximize engagement and instructional effectiveness.

  • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate content creation, improve efficiency, and enhance the learner experience.

Training Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Deliver customized virtual and in-person training for enterprise merchants, agency partners, and internal teams as needed.

  • Conduct detailed scoping calls with merchants and partners to understand business objectives and functional requirements, and provide expert recommendations on personalized training needs.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Professional Services, Account Management, and Marketing.

  • Work with external stakeholders, including client partners, project managers, developers, technical partners, and executives in enterprise organizations.

  • Manage training action plans and coordinate scheduling and administration of learning sessions before, during, and after delivery.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Commerce platform features, the third-party ecosystem, and competitive differentiators.

Who You Are:

  • 3-5 years of combined experience in the technology industry with a focus on technical writing, instructional design, product training, developer education, or similar roles.

  • Working knowledge of GitHub and local development practices; able to run and modify a site locally using popular frameworks like Next.js or Nuxt.js.

  • Experience with ecommerce tools and applications, including SaaS and open source storefronts, headless implementations, POS, PIM, OMS, ERP, and payment gateways.

  • Solid technical foundation: comfortable with APIs and able to run API requests given API docs or a Postman library; familiar with front-end development tools and at ease with HTML/CSS/JS.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex technical topics clearly to audiences of all experience levels.

  • Proactive, transparent communicator who is mindful of stakeholder needs across global, matrixed organizations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple content projects independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment.

  • Comfortable learning new technologies quickly and asking for help from others; a natural collaborator and knowledge-sharer.
