Sales representatives typically connect with potential customers via phone, email, video calls, or online demos to understand their needs and offer suitable solutions. This role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to build relationships without in-person meetings. Success in this field often depends on meeting sales targets, understanding the competitive landscape, and staying updated on industry trends.

What are typical challenges faced by professionals in remote technology sales, and how can they be overcome?

Remote technology sales professionals often face challenges such as building rapport virtually, managing time zones with clients, and staying motivated without an in-person team environment. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to master virtual communication tools, establish a clear daily routine, and proactively seek out collaboration with colleagues through online meetings or chat platforms. Consistent follow-up and a strong online presence can also help foster trust with clients. Many organizations offer training, mentoring, and regular team check-ins to support remote sales staff. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Technology Sales position, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Technology Sales, you need a solid grasp of consultative sales techniques, knowledge of technology products, and a proven sales track record, often backed by a bachelor's degree. Familiarity with CRM software (like Salesforce), video conferencing platforms, and relevant sales certifications (such as Certified Inside Sales Professional) is highly valued. These abilities are vital for effectively engaging clients, managing a sales pipeline remotely, and driving consistent business growth in a competitive technology market.

Job description

New Business Sales Manager - Cloud Infrastructure (MSP / CSP Focus)

Remote in United States | Travel Required

Own the deal. Build the pipeline. Sell real infrastructure.

Virtuozzo is a leader in cloud infrastructure software powering service providers, SaaS companies, and enterprises worldwide. Our platform delivers high-performance virtualization, storage, and orchestration-enabling customers to run scalable, cost-efficient cloud environments in the age of AI.

We're looking for aquota-carrying hunter to drive net-new business across the MSP, CSP, and hosting provider market in the US.This is not a relationship management role. You will own your territory, build pipeline from scratch, and close deals.

What You'll Do

  • Hunt and close new business - own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
  • Build your territory - identify and win MSPs, CSPs, hosting providers, and cloud-focused companies
  • Lead technical sales conversations - run discovery, position solutions, and guide customers through demos and PoCs
  • Create pipeline - outbound prospecting, events, partner-driven opportunities, and direct engagement
  • Drive expansion - grow accounts after initial wins through upsell and cross-sell
  • Travel to win deals - meet customers, support key opportunities, attend industry events (30-50%)

What You Bring

You're a hunter first, with enough technical depth to sell infrastructure solutions confidently.

You likely are:

  • An Account Executive / Sales Manager selling into cloud, infrastructure, or SaaS
  • OR a Sales Engineer ready to take ownership of deals and quota

Required:

  • Experience in B2B tech sales (cloud, infrastructure, SaaS, or hosting)
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline and close new business
  • Comfortable running technical and business-level conversations
  • Willingness to travel as needed to close deals

Nice to have (not required):

  • Experience selling into or working with MSPs, CSPs, hosting providers, or telcos
  • Exposure to virtualization (VMware, KVM), storage, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms

You don't need to know everything-but you need to be curious, coachable, and able to learn fast.

Why Join Virtuozzo

  • True ownership - run your territory like your own business
  • Sell a highly differentiated infrastructure platform in a growing cloud + AI market
  • Remote-first with flexibility
  • Competitive compensation + performance incentives
  • Training, certifications, and career growth opportunities

Who Thrives Here

  • Hunters who enjoy building pipeline, not inheriting it
  • Sales professionals who like technical products they can really understand
  • People who want freedom, ownership, and impact-not layers of process
