Our client is seeking an experienced Controller who will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll transactions, compliance, and financial analysis while supporting leadership with critical business insights. To thrive/succeed as the Controller, you should have:

  • 5-8 years of accounting or finance experience
  • Accounting degree or equivalent training/certification
  • QuickBooks proficiency
  • General knowledge of support ticket software and CRM knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliation, payroll, and accounting regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management abilities
  • High regard for privacy and confidentiality regarding financial information
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment

Your responsibilities as the Controller will include: 

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401(k), and bank accounts monthly
  • Manage monthly payroll transactions
  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheets and profit and loss reports
  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform audits to resolve discrepancies
  • Compile, analyze, and report financial data to leadership
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including revenue deferrals, write-offs, and journal entries
  • Calculate and track company financial metrics and statements
  • Prepare tax reports and ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations
  • Routinely communicate billing concerns and recommend operational improvements
  • Participate in workflow enhancements and process optimization initiatives
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
  • Present financial data and insights to organizational leadership
  • Conduct vendor research and screening to support organizational growth and system improvements
  • Handle multiple time-sensitive priorities from directors, operations teams, account managers, customers, and new business teams
