Data Analyst (Power BI)

Reports To: Director of Enterprise Applications & Business Intelligence Location: Fort Worth, TX (On-site preferred; remote considered for exceptional candidates) Type: Full-Time

Turn Complex Data into Actionable Insights

We are seeking a Data Analyst with strong Power BI expertise and experience working with operational and financial reporting in construction, MEP, or project-based environments. This role will help deliver accurate, scalable, and business-focused reporting solutions that support Finance, Operations, and executive leadership.

You'll work closely with the Data Architect and business stakeholders to develop dashboards, validate data quality, and provide meaningful insights that improve decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for Finance, Operations, Project Management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop reports and visualizations using enterprise semantic models and datasets.
  • Write and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and report logic.
  • Deliver reporting across key business areas including: WIP / Percentage of Completion (POC), Project margin analysis, AR aging, Field service KPIs, Payroll and labor reporting, Multi-entity financial reporting.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, validate outputs, and refine reporting solutions.
  • Maintain existing dashboards and reporting environments, ensuring data accuracy and usability.
  • Validate ERP and operational data against source systems and identify discrepancies proactively.
  • Support modernization and migration initiatives related to reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Document report definitions, business logic, metrics, and data sources.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and ERP teams to ensure reporting aligns with governance standards and enterprise data models.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience developing Power BI dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Strong DAX experience including: Time intelligence, Financial calculations, Variance analysis, Rolling averages, Context management.
  • Experience working with construction, MEP, field service, or project-based financial reporting environments.
  • Understanding of: WIP / Percentage of Completion accounting, Job costing, Retainage, Project billing.
  • Experience with ERP or operational systems such as: IFS, Vista, ComputerEase, Sage Intacct, Similar platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
  • Experience working within governed Power BI environments including: Certified datasets, Row-level security, Deployment pipelines, Workspace governance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure-based analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data modeling concepts.
  • Experience supporting operational and financial analytics initiatives.
  • Exposure to data governance and BI best practices.
