Job description

Project Superintendent
Spartan Contracting Corporation is seeking a Project Superintendent with extensive experience in group-up commercial builds to join our team. Experience in banks, healthcare, retail and convenience stores or other commercial designs is desired. The Project Superintendent will coordinate and manage assigned job site activities ranging from tenant occupied improvement to ground-up projects in the Greater Tampa Bay and Central Florida regions. Additionally, the Project Superintendent collaborates with project managers, other superintendents, engineers, architects, owner/vendor suppliers and other field personnel to deliver a successful project on time and on budget with the desired level of quality. This position requires frequent travel and overnight stays.

Location: Tampa, FL (Onsite/Regional) Candidates must be based in the Greater Gulf Bay or Western Florida area or be willing to relocate within 120 days of employment.
Travel Required: Frequent Travel Required; Travel to other regions may be required to support other team members and meet project priorities.
Salary Range: $60,000-$110,000.00 per year (based on experience, training, certifications amp; qualifications)

Spartan Contracting Corporation is a leader when it comes to implementing new technology. The position of Project Superintendent must demonstrate an ability or willingness to learn the following:
1. iPad amp; iPhone
2. PlanGrid / AutoDesk Build and / or ProCore
3. Microsoft Office Suite of Products
4. Adobe products
5. Others as the company may require.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Valid Drivers License and Passing MVR, Drug Screen and Background Check
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years experience as a project superintendent in the commercial construction industry, preferably Bank / 7-11 experience; 5 to 7 years experience of combined education and work experience is highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
  • 5 years experience reading blue prints and plans
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors, equipment amp; materials suppliers
  • Experience creating and generating RFIs, reviewing and understanding submittals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and / or humidity and cold, fumes or airborne particles, exposure to dust and asphalt, and moving mechanical parts. There may be occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Conditions can also include the risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud.
The Senior Superintendent is regularly required to:
1.Walk, climb stairs, site and stand
2.Talk and hear at normal levels.
3.See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus.
4.Reach with hands and arms.
5.Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines
6.Lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
