Job Title: Construction Project Controller

Reports To: Director of Operations Accounting

Schedule: Full Time; Monday – Friday

Summary/Objective:

The Project Controller works closely with Project Executives, Project Managers and Project Superintendents on all facets of project accounting, project job costing, and administration issues.

Essential Functions:

The Project Controller will be knowledgeable about all aspects of construction accounting and will be responsible for the following:

    • Reviewing and approving subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices
    • Assisting project team(s) in preparation of the monthly owner requisitions
    • Managing subcontractor compliance with terms and conditions of contracts (i.e. lower tier waivers, bonds, billing procedures)
    • Assisting Project Management in the monthly project forecast including validation of the projected fee and percent complete forecast
    • Processing subcontractor and owner change orders in Spectrum
    • Processing labor and AP job cost transfers
    • Monitoring the cash position of the project and completion of the monthly cash position analysis
    • Preparation of the project cash forecasts
    • Assisting the Controller
    • Other related duties as needed/assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of construction accounting related experience
  • Experience with CCIP/OCIP project administration and analysis is a plus

Skills and Qualifications:


• Ability to manage multiple needs simultaneously
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with accounting principles and standards, internal controls, and cash management
• Communication and presentation skills to discuss complex accounting concepts with stakeholders
• Proven experience as an outstanding team player with great interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

This position is located in Callahan’s Bridgewater, MA headquarters. Hours of work are 8:30AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday.
