Job Summary

Our Remote Second Opinion team is seeking a Medical Records Specialist with a background in healthcare and client service who has a passion for helping families throughout their healthcare journeys. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will help drive the expansion of a transformational way to access expertise in medicine globally by working directly with our members to help them make better medical decisions through virtual Expert Consultations and Remote Second Opinions. We operate in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Flexibility and exceptional organizational and communication skills are essential to thrive in this role.

In this role you will:
  • Collect and organize medical records for member families seeking virtual Expert Consultations and Remote Second Opinions
  • Work to create efficiencies in the medical records collection process
  • Demonstrate excellence in client service, written and oral communication, project management, and problem solving
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the Remote Second Opinion, Member Experience, and Clinical Operations teams to create the best experience possible for our members
Responsibilities
  • Can-do attitude! Go above and beyond to obtain medical records in a timely manner
  • Accountability for the collection and organization of medical records
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, identifying any missing records that are required for Expert Consultations or Remote Second Opinions
  • Comfort and experience communicating with medical offices, hospitals, and laboratories by phone, email, and fax
  • Train other Medical Records Specialists as needed
  • Maintain the confidentiality of personal health information
  • Fluency with our proprietary platform and other platforms as needed
  • Demonstrate empathy, kindness, and understanding in all interactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in medical collection strongly preferred; 7+ years of experience in medical records collection will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degreeย 
  • Passion for making patient-centric, innovative healthcare accessibleย 
  • Ability to balance competing priorities
  • Experience reviewing high volume, complex medical records
  • Comfort dealing with sensitive topics
  • Proficiency with multiple technology platforms
  • Self-motivated and ability to work responsibly, both independently and collaboratively as needs warrant in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
  • Receptive to close coaching and feedback
