The responsibilities often include organizing webinars, virtual conferences, or online workshops, handling digital event platforms, and ensuring smooth communication among participants. Remote event professionals use various digital tools to execute successful events and often collaborate with teams and clients across different time zones.

Remote Event and Remote Conference Coordinator roles both involve organizing virtual gatherings. However, Remote Event roles often encompass a broader range of event types, including webinars, workshops, and online celebrations, while Remote Conference Coordinators specifically focus on planning and executing online conferences and large-scale meetings. Both require strong organizational skills and familiarity with virtual tools, but the Conference Coordinator role typically demands more experience in managing complex schedules and multiple stakeholders.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals organizing remote events, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals organizing remote events often encounter challenges such as maintaining participant engagement, managing technical issues, and ensuring smooth communication among team members. To address these, it's important to invest in reliable virtual event platforms, create interactive sessions (like polls or breakout rooms), and establish clear guidelines for team roles and communication channels. Regular rehearsals and contingency plans can also help minimize disruptions and ensure a seamless experience for attendees.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Event Coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Event Coordinator, you need strong organizational abilities, event planning experience, and often a background in communications or hospitality. Familiarity with virtual event platforms (such as Zoom, Hopin, or Webex), project management tools, and sometimes certification in event management (like CMP) are valuable. Excellent time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills set top performers apart in this role. These competencies are crucial for successfully executing engaging online events, managing logistics remotely, and ensuring positive experiences for all participants.

Job description

About MoonPay

Hi, weโ€™re MoonPay. Weโ€™re here to onboard the world to the decentralized economy by making digital money move as universally and effortlessly as the internet.

Why?

Because crypto, stablecoins and blockchain arenโ€™t just technologies. Theyโ€™re tools for global financial empowerment. They give people and businesses more control over their money, their digital assets, and their future, opening access to legacy financial systems that have been out of reach for many.

What we do
MoonPay is a unified payments platform for digital currency. We make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to buy, sell, swap and pay in digital currencies as easy as sending an email. That simplicity is intentional, our focus is reducing complexity so people can participate confidently, without needing to be crypto experts. We power the entire flow between fiat and crypto end to end, with compliance, identity checks, fraud prevention, and settlement all built in. This end-to-end approach reflects how we work internally: with accountability, rigor, and trust built into everything we ship.

Proven at scale

Trusted by over 30 million customers and over 500 ecosystem partners, our secure, enterprise-grade platform is driving mainstream crypto adoption worldwide. Behind those numbers are millions of real people and organizations relying on MoonPay every day.

We collaborate with innovative brands and projects to build secure, scalable solutions for a blockchain-powered future. This is an opportunity to help shape systems, not just scale them. And weโ€™re committed to doing it right. Fully licensed in the U.S. and regulated across the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, because trust and compliance are non-negotiable.

But weโ€™re just getting started. Weโ€™ve launched a consumer app that makes crypto accessible, intuitive, and usable for everyone, and itโ€™s growing fast. Weโ€™re iterating every day to make it the best it can be.

If you believe financial freedom should be for everyone. If you believe in building a fairer, more open financial system - we want you with us. To build systems that benefit all, we need contributions from all, regardless of background.

Come build the future of payments and the decentralized economy with MoonPay. Letโ€™s make financial freedom and autonomy the new normal.

About the Opportunity

MoonPay is looking for an Events & Marketing Manager to help bring our brand to life through world-class sponsorships, activations, and partner experiences. In this role, you will support the planning and execution of high-impact moments across crypto, culture, sports, and entertainment - from major industry conferences to MoonPayโ€™s partnerships and branded experiences, including X Games.

Sitting within the Communications team, youโ€™ll work cross-functionally with Design, Social, Finance, and Legal, while also managing relationships with external vendors, agencies, partners, and event organisers. Youโ€™ll play a key role in ensuring every activation is executed to an exceptional standard, balancing creativity with operational excellence and attention to detail.

This is a highly collaborative, fast-paced role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys managing multiple workstreams simultaneously. You should be equally comfortable contributing creative ideas, building detailed project plans, coordinating logistics, and being hands-on during live events. Your work will directly shape how MoonPay shows up in the world and how our brand is experienced by partners, customers, and the wider crypto community.

What You Will Do
  • Support the planning and execution of sponsorships, branded activations, and events, ranging from major crypto conferences and MoonPayโ€™s X Games partnership to bespoke partner experiences

  • Support the development of creative concepts and event experiences, contributing ideas that help MoonPay show up in original, culturally relevant, and memorable ways

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, run-of-show documents, and briefing materials to support the successful delivery of activations

  • Support guest list management, event staffing coordination, and on-site event execution, helping ensure a seamless experience for attendees, partners, and internal stakeholders

  • Track sponsorship contractual deliverables and support execution to ensure all obligations are delivered accurately and on time

  • Coordinate sponsorship agreements, purchase orders, and invoices in partnership with Finance and Legal teams

  • Support the production of branded merchandise, printed collateral, and event materials, coordinating with vendors, designers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery

  • Liaise across Design, Communications, Social, Finance, and Legal teams to support the smooth execution of activations and campaigns

  • Prepare post-event recaps, reporting, and budget reconciliations, capturing key learnings and insights from each activation

  • Hands-on experience coordinating with external vendors, agencies, venues, and event partners to support successful event delivery.

  • Experience working closely with creative teams, including developing briefs, reviewing creative assets and proofs, and supporting the production of branded merchandise and printed materials.

  • Proactive, resourceful, and highly organised, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and operate effectively in fast-paced environments.

  • Comfortable collaborating across global teams and time zones, with willingness to travel to support events and activations as required.

Nice-to-have experience

  • Experience working in sports marketing or supporting partnerships with sports properties, talent, athletes, or entertainment brands.

  • Experience supporting activations across multiple markets, with an understanding of how to localise brand experiences and content for different audiences and cultural contexts.

Weโ€™re looking for people who live our core values, those who strive for excellence and want to leave a lasting legacyย on the global financial system. Our values:

B - Be Hungry
L - Level Up
