Job description

Overview

The Senior Events Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of company events and experiences. This role involves end-to-end event management of events that range in size and complexity, from small meetings to large conferences and trade shows. The Senior Events Manager will leverage their expertise to ensure events are aligned with business objectives, delivered within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and impact. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive leader with strong project and time management skills and a proven ability to balance strategic planning with seamless execution.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Events, this role helps translate the enterprise event strategy set by the Vice President, Events and Experience into flawlessly executed, on-brand experiences that strengthen brand perception, deepen customer relationships, and reinforce Cotiviti's evolution into a healthcare infrastructure, intelligence, and technology platform.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives across a variety of events including but not limited to: tradeshows, client programs, sales kickoff, summits, and executive engagements.
  • Lead event planning and execution, including logistics, scheduling, creative direction, staging, and on-site operations for assigned projects, ensuring a premium, cohesive, and on-brand attendee experience.
  • Execute strategy for assigned external conferences, sponsorship activations, and customer or industry forums, partnering with Sales and Product Marketing to support pipeline generation, executive engagement, and product visibility.
  • Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and venues.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop integrated event promotion strategies and materials (including social, video, and storytelling content) that extend the reach and impact of each event while supporting broader brand awareness.
  • Develop regular reporting schedule and tools to share the effectiveness of event campaigns; this includes sharing directly within Marketing (i.e. Product Marketing), and across GTM leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure event objectives are clearly defined, communicated, and met.
  • Help to assist in managing inventory assets and executing on fulfillment campaigns.
  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
  • Seek new and innovative, technology-forward event solutions, practices, and activations, including experiences that showcase Cotiviti's evolving platform and AI capabilities, to enhance experience and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess outcomes, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of event activities, contracts, and communications.
  • These duties are not an all-inclusive description of the role. You must remain flexible and eager to assist in all responsibilities necessary to execute an enterprise-level program.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field required
  • 7+ years of event marketing experience, healthcare preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, vendors, and team members
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure every aspect of an event is meticulously planned and executed
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and handling high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and foster a positive working environment
  • Experience creating and managing budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization
  • Proficiency in event management software tools: Cvent, Powerpoint, Excel, Exhibitforce (or equivalent asset management tools), Asana (or equivalent project management software).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% a year.

Mental Requirements

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Completing tasks independently.

  • Maintaining focus.

  • Remembering and adhering to processes and protocols.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • On-site expectations and physical requirements vary regarding trade show and client conference setup/teardown.
  • On-site events may require extended hours beyond a standard schedule. As this is an exempt position, flexible scheduling adjustments may be discussed with your manager following high-intensity on-site periods.

Base compensation ranges from $86,000 to $111,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
