Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identification: Screen foster youth electronic case files to identify children who may have potential eligibility for SSA benefit programs.
  • Case Worker Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to case workers on benefit-related matters.
  • Applications: Develop and file applications with the SSA by gathering supporting evidence, completing forms and gathering necessary signatures.
  • Management of Pending Application: Manage pending applications by tracking their status, providing updated information and facilitating attendance by children who need to attend Consultative Exams requested by SSA.
  • Detailed Tracking: Maintain comprehensive and precise records of all benefit activities and transactions.
  • Training: Provide periodic training to workers regarding the Social Security program.
  • Liaison: Act as the primary day to day liaison with client.
