POSITION SUMMARY:
The Solution Architect EDI serves as the lead subject matter expert for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and B2B integration within a manufacturing environment utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O). This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable integration solutions that enable secure and efficient data exchange between the organization and its trading partners. This position acts as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams-translating business requirements into effective system solutions that drive operational efficiency and measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in EDI technologies and Microsoft-based ERP environments (AX 2009, AX 2012, D365) with strong solution architecture capabilities to deliver reliable, scalable, and future-ready integration frameworks.
Essential Functions:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for EDI and other B2B integration technologies.
  • Partner cross functionally with stakeholders to:
  • Review and document current state processes
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities
  • Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Design and validate EDI solutions and offer guidance on the implementation of best practices, security standards and architectural principles.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, including solution reviews and design oversight.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of process and system documentation to enable effective knowledge transfer, system stability, smooth hyper care, and operational transitions.
  • Mentor, coach and train team members within the EDI and B2B integration domain.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, protocols, and standards and recommend improvements in services and products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and integration capabilities.
  • Collaborate across functional areas including Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment of solutions with business
  • Perform other duties assigned that support the overall success of the team, department, or organization. This may include participating in cross-functional initiatives, contributing to process improvements, or assisting with special projects as needed.

    • Strong understanding of EDI standards, particularly ANSI X12
    • Experience with EDI communication protocols, including:
      • AS2, FTP, SFTP, HTTPS, and VAN
    • Hands-on experience with EDI transaction sets such as:
      • 850, 855, 856, 810, 940, 943, 944, 945, 947
    • Proficiency in:
      • EDI mapping and business process modeling
      • Interface design (inbound/outbound integrations)
      • SQL query development

Education/Experience/Qualifications/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong experience in CPG or Manufacturing environment
  • 7+ years of experience with EDI implementation, integration, and maintenance
  • Experience working with integration development tools for EDI mapping and business process modeling
  • Experience with EDI configuration, including partner profile setup and business process modeling
  • Advanced experience EDI inbound and outbound interface functionality and developing and supporting interfaces for different business processes

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Ability to remain seated at a workstation for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
  • Ability to view computer screens and read printed materials for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and reaching within the office environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry office supplies or equipment weighing up to 10-15 lbs.
  • Adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and via phone/video.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual salary for this position ranges from $125,000 - $170,000
    • Note: Compensation is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
  • This role is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Bonus
