Description

A leading consumer products and electronics manufacturer is seeking an experienced EDI Director to oversee all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations, integrations, and trading partner relationships. This role is responsible for managing EDI systems, onboarding retail and distribution partners, maintaining transaction accuracy, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless data exchange across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with EDI administration, strong technical expertise, and a background supporting large-scale B2B operations within consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments.

What You'll Do EDI System Administration
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize the company’s EDI infrastructure and related systems
  • Configure, monitor, and support EDI integrations and communications
  • Perform system maintenance, updates, backups, and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Partner with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting EDI operations
Trading Partner Onboarding
  • Lead onboarding and implementation of new trading partners
  • Coordinate setup, testing, and validation of EDI connections
  • Gather business and technical requirements from internal teams and external partners
  • Ensure timely and accurate implementation of EDI transaction sets and workflows
Data Mapping & Integration
  • Develop and maintain EDI maps, translation rules, and integration workflows
  • Support data conversion between internal systems and EDI standards
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure accurate data mapping and transaction processing
  • Analyze and resolve data translation and integration errors
EDI Operations & Support
  • Monitor daily EDI transmissions, acknowledgments, and error reporting
  • Investigate and resolve transaction failures and operational issues
  • Maintain documentation including trading partner specifications, mapping guides, and technical requirements
  • Ensure uninterrupted data flow between customers, vendors, and internal systems
Compliance & Standards
  • Maintain compliance with applicable EDI standards and industry requirements
  • Ensure adherence to customer, vendor, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with internal teams to support data security, privacy, and compliance initiatives
  • Stay current on evolving EDI technologies, protocols, and best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in EDI administration, implementation, and support
  • Experience within consumer products, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or retail industries required
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT
  • Experience supporting common EDI transaction sets including 850, 810, 856, and related documents
  • Proficiency in EDI mapping, translation, and integration tools
  • Experience with communication protocols including AS2, FTP, and SFTP
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
