Job Description:

Join Job Duck as a Court Filing Legal Assistant and play a vital role in supporting attorneys through efficient case management, court filing coordination, and legal administrative support. In this position, you will help ensure matters move forward smoothly by managing deadlines, organizing legal documents, and maintaining accurate case records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and confident managing multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced legal environment. You will serve as a key point of coordination between attorneys, clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals, making strong communication and attention to detail essential. This role is perfect for a dependable professional who enjoys taking ownership of their work and contributing to the success of a growing law practice.

Monthly Compensation: 1150 USD to 1220 USD

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Calendar court deadlines, hearings, depositions, meetings, and attorney schedules.
  • Prepare and e-file pleadings, motions, and court documents.
  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasks and filings.
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
  • .Verify billable and non-billable activities as needed.
  • Support multiple attorneys with legal and administrative tasks
  • Draft, revise, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence.
  • Review, organize, and maintain discovery materials and case documents.
  • Open new matters and maintain accurate file organization.
  • Manage and organize matters in Clio Manage.

  • Provide general administrative and client support as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and Judicial Assistants.
  • Assist with billing support and time entry.

Requirements:

Working Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM EST

Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)

2-3 years of experience handling court filings for a U.S. law firm

Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced law firm environment

Experience with e-filing pleadings, motions, and court documents

Florida e-Filing experience preferred but not required

Experience with discovery support and document management

Experience drafting, revising, and formatting legal documents and correspondence

Experience with legal billing and time entry preferred

Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and adapt to changing priorities throughout the day

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Comfortable managing legal assistant, calendaring, case management, administrative, and client support responsibilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and Judicial Assistants

Software Required: Clio Manage, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Florida e-Filing Portal, DocuSign
