Job description

FICO (NYSE: FICO) is a leading global analytics software company, helping businesses in 100+ countries make better decisions. Join our world-class team today and fulfill your career potential!
The Opportunity
"FICO's Corporate Strategy team is responsible for key strategic initiatives and corporate development projects across FICO's Software and Scores business units. The Corporate Strategy organization is led by former McKinsey Senior Partner, and this Director-level role reports directly to the VP Corporate Strategy, also a former McKinsey Partner - creating an environment deeply grounded in strategic rigor and consulting expertise. This is a remote role, though we ideally seek candidates based in the New York City area. This position is designed for someone who focuses relentlessly on increasing shareholder value by continuously devising plans to "win" in the marketplace." - Hiring Manager
What You'll Contribute
  • Identify opportunities for significant shareholder value creation and recommend practical approaches to realize those opportunities.
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives for Software, Scores and FICO corporate across a broad range of areas such as new business opportunities, growth, pricing, cost reduction/efficiency, and organizational restructuring.
  • Lead, or contribute to, corporate development projects, including acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships. This can include deal strategic assessment, negotiations, post transaction planning and full post-merger integration.
  • Create broad organizational alignment on key strategic projects and initiatives by leading cross-functional teams of managers and leaders.
  • Present recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior leaders across the business, to foster broad, consistent understanding, and strategic alignment.

What We're Seeking
  • Experience in a leading strategic consulting firm, preferably at the engagement manager / project leader level.
  • Proven strategic thinker with experience working on strategy projects, including but not limited to growth, go-to-market, product, and innovation strategy.
  • Understanding of, and experience working on projects in the financial services (lending, retail banking, payments), information services, and/or software sectors.
  • Proven mastery over the "strategy skillset" including: conceptual problem solving and comfort with ambiguity; economic and financial modeling and analyses; gathering and analysis of competitor and market demand data, leveraging both internal and external sources; working in and leading complex, cross-functional project teams and structuring, developing, and communicating executive-ready materials with top-down messaging and insightful recommendations on opportunities, capabilities, risks, and ROI.
  • Distinctive ownership over outcomes, proactively anticipating what comes next, driving work to completion without being directed, and holding themselves accountable to business impact rather than just workstream delivery.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, not just executing assigned projects, but identifying white space, generating hypotheses about where value can be created, and independently structuring and proposing new workstreams around those ideas.
  • Influencing and aligning stakeholders across the business by building credibility quickly, navigating competing priorities, and bringing the right people to a shared point of view in a way that drives decisions and moves initiatives forward.
  • Commitment to developing others by actively investing time in the growth of more junior colleagues across the strategy team through feedback and hands on coaching.
  • BS degree preferred in business administration, marketing, economics, or an analysis-based discipline. Emphasis on data analysis, statistics, business systems or software engineering a plus.

Our Offer to You
  • An inclusive culture strongly reflecting our core values: Act Like an Owner, Delight Our Customers and Earn the Respect of Others.
  • The opportunity to make an impact and develop professionally by leveraging your unique strengths and participating in valuable learning experiences.
  • Highly competitive compensation, benefits and rewards programs that encourage you to bring your best every day and be recognized for doing so.
  • An engaging, people-first work environment offering work/life balance, employee resource groups, and social events to promote interaction and camaraderie.
  • The targeted base pay range for this role is: $147,000 to $231,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
