Job description

Job Description: Religious Service Music Director (Catholic/Protestant)

Location: Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide musical accompaniment and directorship for weekly worship services and rehearsals
  • Lead congregational singing and vocal worship as required
  • Plan, organize, and lead praise team or choir (Protestant services)
  • Coordinate with Chaplain to select appropriate music aligned with service themes
  • Distribute music to team members at least 24 hours prior to rehearsal
  • Conduct and manage rehearsals to ensure readiness for services
  • Support special services, religious observances, and liturgical events
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers and chapel participants
  • Assist in planning music program elements, including calendars and budgets
  • Maintain accountability for chapel facilities (setup, cleanup, securing)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading music in a worship setting
  • Proficiency in piano performance and sight-reading
  • Ability to sing and lead congregational worship vocally
  • Experience working with multiple musical instruments and team settings
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
