Job description

Regional Technical Operations Manager
Position is accountable for managing technical needs and product and field support of all current and new product technologies for the ErgonArmor Business Unit (EABU) and to manage technical deliverables between the Business Unit (i.e. Management [Mgt], Operations [Ops] and Sales and Marketing [SM]), third party manufacturers and Paragon Technical Services, Inc. (PTSi).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely technical support and communication to PCR plants that produce crack sealants, aggregate filled repair mastics, bulk roofing and waterproofing through formulation support, troubleshooting issues, product QA/QC, investigations into quality failures, audits and facilitation of those systems.
  • Work to facilitate operational consistency with assets and operational procedures throughout the overall plant network.
  • Manage the formulation process with Paragon and Crafco MQT work to optimize plant efficiency and raw material costs.
  • Oversee the Quality Management system to ensure compliance with Crafco, PPM and Agency Plan requirements.
  • Work with Sales and Technical Marketing to provide feedback on field performance of all products and applications.
  • Work with supply and procurement in evaluation and selection effort of all raw materials in the facilities.
  • Establish new technological processes to benchmark assets, chemistry, and raw materials available to the market from inside and outside of the asphalt industry.
  • Ensure facilities are fully supported through routine interaction with operations, marketing, and technical marketing.
  • Partner with local labs and Engineering departments to drive new products and technologies from concept through commercialization.
  • Manage the process to deploy plant assets/ chemistry/ etc. to deliver technologies.
  • Responsible for the scale up of process from lab to plant production.
  • Participate in product and process evaluation, development, and execution of strategic technology initiatives.
  • Participate in the development, presentation, and implementation of new ideas, concepts, assets, chemistries, etc. for A&E management to consider.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reports to:
  • Technical Operations Director

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Significant asphalt technology experience could be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required with a bachelor's degree. A minimum of 5 years of experience is required with no degree.
  • Experience with formulating and support of polymer modified asphalt, particularly roofing, water proofing, crack sealant, and mastic preferred.
  • Excelled management, communication, and computer skills in MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Candidate needs to be located near a major airport hub for ease of transportation.
