Job description

Overview

United Community is seeking a highly skilled Regional Support Specialist (RSS) to serve as a subject-matter expert and operational liaison for branches within an assigned region. This role is essential in driving operational excellence, reducing risk, elevating branch performance, and fostering strong communication between branch teams and support areas.

What You'll Do

- Serve as the primary liaison for branch personnel regarding deposit applications, operations, risk reviews, and exception tracking.

- Maintain knowledge of deposit systems and operational procedures.

- Provide training, coaching, and support to reinforce safety and soundness.

- Conduct quarterly cash audits and monthly risk checkpoints.

- Review exception reports and develop plans to reduce exceptions.

- Review teller over/short reports and assist in resolution.

- Review cash items and collections.

- Communicate routinely with Regional Banking Managers, Branch Managers, and Presidents.

- Conduct routine branch visits (travel required).

- Complete Quality Control reviews.

- Facilitate regional branch meetings.

- Review checkpoint and audit results and execute remediation plans.

- Assist in developing SOP bulletins, manuals, and job aids.

- Partner with Training and other departments to optimize performance.

- Participate in M&A activities and branch opening/closing events.

- May be crosstrained for support desk calls, workflows, or SharePoint checkpoints.

- Assist with annual budget development.

- Participate in all compliance training.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements For Success

- Associate degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.

- At least two years of branch banking experience.

- Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, communication, and customer interaction skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and bank software programs.

Conditions of Employment

- No supervisory responsibilities.

- Office environment with use of standard equipment.

- Physical requirements include standing and typing.

- Schedule flexibility for evenings/weekends.

- Up to 75% travel required.

- Fulltime, exempt position.

- Must be able to pass a background & credit check.
