Overview

The Instrumentationย Startup Engineer position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Groupโ€™s quickly growing Outsourced Technical Services(OTS) team at a site near Zebulon, NC. Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) is an integral part of PM Groupโ€™s ability to support clients across the complete project life cycle. We have over 50 yearsโ€™ industry experience, strong technical knowledge and integrated resources. Clients look to us to provide experienced technical professionals that complement their project teams. Together we are sharing knowledge, learning, growing and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Groupโ€™s ongoing expansion in the US.

PM Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Startup Engineer to support the startup and operational readiness of a large-scale life sciences manufacturing facility. This field-based role will support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and turnover of instrumentation systems while working closely with engineering, automation, CQV, operations, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities
  • Support startup and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
  • Participate in field troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Perform system walkdowns and support punch list closure.
  • Assist with loop checks and functional testing.
  • Coordinate with Automation, Electrical, CQV, vendors, and Operations.
  • Support operational readiness and system turnover activities.
  • Assist with startup documentation and commissioning records.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
  • Experience supporting startup or commissioning activities within regulated manufacturing
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time onsite

Preferred experience:

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing
  • Instrumentation field engineering
  • Commissioning and startup support
  • Smart instrumentation
  • Pressure, flow, temperature, and level instrumentation
  • Control valves
  • Analytical instrumentation
