Recruiting Contract information

What are some common challenges faced by recruiting contract professionals and how can they be addressed?

Recruiting contract professionals often face the challenge of quickly adapting to different company cultures and processes, as assignments can be short-term or project-based. They must also efficiently manage multiple requisitions and stakeholder expectations within tight deadlines. Building rapport with hiring managers and candidates in a short timeframe is crucial. To overcome these challenges, successful contract recruiters prioritize clear communication, maintain organized workflows, and proactively seek feedback to align with client needs.

Both roles require recruiting knowledge but differ in duration, scope, and employment type.

What is a recruiting contract?

A recruiting contract is a formal agreement between a company and a recruiter or recruiting agency that outlines the terms and conditions for sourcing and hiring candidates. These contracts typically detail the scope of recruitment services, fee structure, payment terms, and confidentiality clauses. They help ensure that both parties understand their responsibilities and protect the interests of both the employer and the recruiter during the hiring process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a recruiting contractor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Recruiting Contractor, you need a strong understanding of talent acquisition processes, sourcing strategies, and candidate evaluation, often supported by experience in HR or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, and sometimes relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP or AIRS is common. Exceptional communication, negotiation skills, and adaptability help build relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. These skills ensure efficient hiring, a positive candidate experience, and effective fulfillment of organizational staffing needs.

Are you a Relationship Builder? You will communicate with candidates, hiring managers, local HR, interviewers, and staffing partners to create a responsive and professional recruiting experience.ย

Do You Thrive on Details? You will manage job postings, applicant review, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and recruiting documentation with a high level of accuracy.ย

Which tasks will you perform?ย

  • Support the recruiting process and Talent Acquisition team activities to ensure we are attracting, identifying, and selecting superior talent.ย
  • Post, track, update, pause, close, and reopen positions through the Applicant Tracking System (SuccessFactors) and other digital recruiting platforms, as needed.ย
  • Review applications and resumes to determine potential fit; identify qualified candidates for phone interview or hiring manager review.ย
  • Source qualified candidates by leveraging online recruiting resources, applicant tracking tools, job boards, and other approved recruiting channels.ย
  • Schedule and/or conduct phone, video, and on-site interviews; ensure candidates, hiring managers, and interviewers receive appropriate information and timely communication.ย
  • Serve as a point of contact for candidates during assigned points in the recruiting lifecycle, providing timely updates and a positive candidate experience.ย
  • Partner with hiring managers and local HR to support open roles while providing an excellent service experience.ย
  • Liaise with and support external staffing agencies in the interview process and hiring of temporary or contract workers.ย
  • Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and recruiting tracker data; follow global and local processes to support quality, compliance, and consistency.ย
  • Run routine checks across postings, candidate communication, and recruiting documentation to support brand reputation, grammar, spelling, and process accuracy.ย
  • Leverage recruiting resources and technologies to support key recruiting performance indicators and timely movement of candidates through the process.ย
  • Participate in Talent Acquisition and HR Shared Services projects or initiatives as needed during the contract assignment.ย

What do we expect from you?ย

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred in any field of study, or equivalent experience.ย
  • 1-3 years of hands-on recruiting, staffing, HR, coordination, or candidate-facing experience preferred; experience supporting frontline, production, manufacturing, or high-volume roles is a plus.ย
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism.ย
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and exceptional time management are critical.ย
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with candidates, hiring managers, HR, interviewers, and agency partners.ย
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude and enthusiasm for supporting the role, team, and company.ย
  • Demonstrated good judgment and problem-solving skills; ability to react well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.ย
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and applicant tracking or recruiting systems; SAP SuccessFactors experience is helpful.ย
  • Familiarity with EEO, equitable hiring practices, and laws/regulations related to recruiting is preferred.ย
  • Ability to manage multiple open roles, candidate touchpoints, interviews, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.ย
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, both remote and on-site in Greenwood, Indiana for the duration of the 6-month contract assignment.ย

What can you expect from us?ย

  • Family-owned, highly committed global company with a sustainable vision of the future.
  • Lifelong learning encouraged by versatile training and success coaching.
  • Work-life balance encouraged through our 10 company-paid holidays and employee assistance programs (financial, mental, and physical health and wellbeing).
