Job description

The City of Waterville seeks an energetic individual with proven skills to fill the position of Executive Assistant to the City Manager and Assistant City Manager. This position also provides staff support to the Mayor and City Solicitor. The position requires considerable initiative and independent judgment in coordinating the confidential administrative activities in support of the highest level of management operations.
Candidates should possess an Associate's Degree or higher and at least five years of progressively responsible administrative, executive support, paralegal, municipal, governmental, or related professional experience. Municipal experience is strongly preferred, but not required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with social media management, Adobe Creative Suite products, Canva, website content management, public communications, and records management is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will need to work well independently and be able to handle the pressure of multiple deadlines. Maintaining effective working relationships with staff, elected officials, members of the public, media representatives, and external partners is essential.
This part-time, 20-hour per week (5 hours per day, Monday - Thursday), position is available immediately. The full pay range for this position is $24.86 - $34.81.
