Summary
The Receptionist Lead is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of the reception team while ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. In addition to performing core reception tasks, the Receptionist Team Lead will also collaborate with other teams and managers to ensure efficiency across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer multi-line phones.
  • Greet patients and vendors.
  • Sign patients in and out while obtaining insurance information and any other necessary patient data.
  • Enter patient data into EHR systems.
  • Schedule patient appointments both on the phone and at checkout desks.
  • Collect outstanding balances and copays.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.
  • Assist the Office Manager in creating the reception teamโ€™s weekly schedule.
  • Review provider schedule to utilize override capabilities when appropriate.
  • Address patient concerns, team concerns, and serve as a point of escalation for reception issues that arise.
  • Train new team members and provide coaching for existing team members.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the DOCS billing team.
  • Process returned statements.
  • Develop and implement opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Spot check reception work and run audits.
  • Review daily deposits and deliver cash deposits to the bank (when applicable).
  • Interview candidates.
  • Document an file HIPAA/incident reports
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • 2+ years reception experience (2+ years).
  • Prior experience with medical terminology (preferred)
  • Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians.
  • Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.

Physical Demands

  • Employees may be regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard while performing the duties of this job.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
