Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with reviewing and recording 3rd Party Retail and Store Manager Cost Inventory Audits – research variances, review for errors and accuracy, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Assist with reporting results to Operations and Risk Management Teams.
  • Review Inventory sub-ledger reports for all stores including AP invoice entries, write-offs to waste, spoilage, bad merchandise, and inventory exceptions and research and resolve any errors or omissions.
  • Assist with the Vendor Rebate process working with Pricebook and Merchandise teams to accrue revenue for Rebates, Store Promotions, Growth Programs, etc.
  • Process Rebate Manager system accruals, invoices, and aging reports.
  • Post payments for Vendor rebates, promotions and miscellaneous income.
  • Assist Supervisor with processing general ledger journal entries (i.e., accruals and prepaids).
  • Assist in preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations and workpapers.
  • Assist with the development of key financial and operational reporting tools.
  • Assist Supervisor with preparation of quarterly/annual audit requests.
  • Assist in the documentation of internal controls relating to our accounting operations.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years accounting experience, preferably in a retail environment
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting/finance
  • Strong knowledge of application and accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational, written, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills, MS Excel a must
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Team player and ability to work in fast-paced changing environment
  • Previous experience using PDI software, a plus, but not required

  • Experience in convenience retail industry strongly preferred
