Role Overview and Responsibilities
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Introduction
The Purchasing Supervisor leads and oversees day-to-day procurement operations to ensure material availability, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for developing and coaching the purchasing team, setting priorities, and driving execution aligned with business execution aligned with business objectives related to cost, quality, delivery, and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for the purchasing team.
  • Assign workloads, set priorities, and balance resources to support production and program needs.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support supplier negotiations, escalations, and performance improvement activities.
  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership on planning, forecasting, and sourcing strategy execution.
  • Monitor and report key procurement KPIs, including shortages, past-due orders, and supplier performance.
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance requirements (ISO/AS, ITAR, internal audits).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing processes and workflows.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and development planning for purchasing team members.
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Core Requirements
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and make objective, fact-based decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across functional teams.
  • Sound judgment in managing supplier and internal escalators.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation (ADA).

Desireable Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in ISO or AS9100 regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing a plus.
