Job description


Job Summary
We are seeking a full time , in personย Purchasing Assistant to join our team! As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be working with multiple departments to determine their supply needs, place orders, and assist in finding the tools they need to do their jobs. You will also be assisting in contract management, following up on supply requests, and monitoring inventory levels of essential goods. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed, and an understanding of supply chain procedures.ย

Responsibilitiesย 
  • Take supply requests from departments, determining need
  • Place orders, follow up on delays, and maintain strong working relationships with vendors
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, ordering an appropriate amount of product before it is at critical levels
  • Evaluate offers from multiple vendors, determining the best place to order based on price and quality, conducting research as necessary to find an appropriate supplier
  • Manage vendor contracts, as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar position desired
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the supply chain, and common issues surrounding it, desired
  • The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed
