The Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the daily management of purchasing process, as well as the management of the strategic procurement and logistics processes for Harmar Mobility. The position will require practical purchasing knowledge, the ability to manage domestic & LCR supply base, and the ability to strategically lead both people and processes to accomplish Harmar's mission. This position requires extensive knowledge of global supply chain, demand planning, materials requirements planning and associated software applications, transportation management system, export & import controls.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Devise and execute global supply chain strategy aligned with Harmar's organizational goals.
  • Manage global supply chain network, supplier relationships, supplier performance, and risk management.
  • Improve Harmar customer experience and drive profit margins.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations as required.
  • Deliver continuous supply of high-quality, high-value products.
  • Execute strategic purchasing initiatives.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to achieve the best terms and conditions.
  • Lead the Purchasing team to use MRP system to effectively order parts at lowest cost at required quality levels, with no stock-outs.
  • Production Planning: Develop & implement SIOP process. Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to drive and align production schedules with demand forecasts and SIOP process.
  • Logistics: Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies including export controls. Manage inbound and outbound logistics processes to ensure cost-effective delivery of materials and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership team, sales, engineering, marketing, IT, and customer service, to
  • ensure alignment of supply chain activities with overall business objectives. Communicate effectively with Senior Leadership Team regarding status, goals, and countermeasures through detailed KPI's.
  • Service Metrics: Monitor and support service metrics to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service performance.
  • Sourcing Metrics: Track and report on key sourcing metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance with procurement policies. Identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives to achieve sourcing goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the supply chain organization. Coordinate with Human Resources to develop succession planning strategies, ensuring leadership continuity and role fulfillment.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions in the supply chain, supplier performance issues, and changes in market conditions.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.

Requirements
  • At least 10 years of purchasing & logistics experience in a Manufacturing environment required. 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Hands-on, direct experience with international suppliers.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, MRP/ERP system, Transportation Management System (TMS). Syspro knowledge preferred
  • Previous experience with MRP/ERP implementation including comprehensive understanding of bills of material.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related fiel
  • APICS certification is a plus.
