Job description

The Lead Automotive Tag & Title Associate ensures that all sales customers tag and title paperwork is processed in a timely manner and provides assistance and guidance to lower level title associates. What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Correct problems and rejects from counties and state as quickly as possible
  • Personally visit county and state tag offices if necessary to expedite customer's tag and title applications
  • Maintain file of title and registration paperwork for all vehicles in inventory, including MSO for new vehicles
  • Handle all inquiries regarding tag and title from customers and sales associates
  • Keep current with applicable laws
  • Assist tag and title associates with their duties
  • Prepare tag and title documents
  • Submit all legal transfer documents to the DMV
  • Issue stock numbers and stock in used vehicles purchased
  • Prepare checks to purchase used vehicles
  • Input inventory control information for used cars
  • Prepare and maintain trade-in vehicle jackets
  • Ensure that name and address files are updated on an ongoing basis
  • Process all wholesale deals and monitor wholesale receivable
  • Verify an pay off trade-ins
  • Reconcile select accounts and schedule monthly, prior to month end
  • Properly represent the dealership to its customers and vendors in a friendly manner
  • Complete end of month accounting reports
  • Assist in completion of annual review/audit

What are the requirements for this job?

  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks and organize schedules
  • Basic working knowledge of automotive accounting
  • Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Basic working knowledge of tag and title laws
