SUMMARY:
The Project Controls Specialist supports successful construction project execution by developing, maintaining, analyzing, and communicating project schedules. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field leadership, and customers to ensure schedules are realistic, properly sequenced, and aligned with operational needs.
This position is responsible for translating customer-provided schedules into detailed internal project plans that reflect labor requirements, procurement timelines, sequencing, and resource constraints. The role also proactively identifies schedule risks, delays, and conflicts, ensuring potential issues are addressed before impacting project performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedule Development & Management
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed construction project schedules
  • Build internal schedules based on customer requirements, field input, and operational constraints
  • Coordinate schedule development and updates throughout all phases of construction
  • Maintain accurate scheduling documentation, revisions, and records

Schedule Analysis & Risk Identification
  • Review and analyze customer-provided schedules for feasibility and sequencing concerns
  • Identify schedule risks, delays, compaction issues, and operational constraints
  • Analyze critical path activities and potential impacts to project completion
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedules and identify deviations

Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to validate schedule assumptions
  • Coordinate with procurement teams on material lead times and schedule impacts
  • Participate in project planning, operational meetings, and customer schedule reviews

Project Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with schedule recovery planning and mitigation strategies
  • Support standardization of scheduling practices and project controls processes
  • Contribute to additional scheduling and operational responsibilities as needed

TECHNOLOGY & TOOLS:
  • Primavera P6 (required)

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES :
  • 3-7 years of experience in construction scheduling, project controls, or operations

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites
