Role Summary: Reporting to the Finance & Project Controls RPS Director, the Senior Project Controls Specialist is a key member of the Relay & Power Project Management Team. The Senior Project Controls Specialist is responsible for providing hands-on project services implementation and delivery including (but not limited to) cost and/or planning/scheduling functions on minor or major projects. Reports to the Director of Finance on project analytics pertaining to KPI's at both the project and business level. Contributes to the design, development, and implementation of additional project controls tools and processes that will add value to both internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Project Controls Specialist shall ensure quality Project Controls deliverables are being met on time to satisfy the company's customer and internal corporate requirements.

Exciting work you will do:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Senior Project Controls Specialist may consist of some or all, and are not limited to, the following:

  • Support RPS Finance in budgeting, change management, forecasting, and reporting for Cost Management
  • Support QA/QC reviews of sales and operations processes at various stages
  • Progress measurement, Earned Value reporting for RPS projects
  • Provide reports of Profit & Loss to management
  • Oversee project man loaded control level schedule process for weekly updates and ensure consistent alignment with project schedules
  • Establish invoicing milestones as required for each project, tracking progress and billing forecasts
  • Provide project controls deliverables based on contractual requirements as specified by each client and or project
  • Support PMO Manager in developing and maintaining project plans
  • Mentor project management personnel
  • Lead other department personnel to ensure all Project Controls objectives are being satisfied to all manager and other key stakeholders' expectations in support of the weekly project requirements
  • Perform Project Scheduling using Microsoft Project, including but not limited to, high level proposal schedules, baseline project schedules, schedule analysis for change impacts, and resource loading across tasks
  • Maintain project variance logs, and mitigation details on potential change order impacts to schedule and cost
  • Provide Resource Utilization metrics on individual projects as well as enterprise scheduling across all projects
  • Support Project Scheduling Deliverables that meet customer requirements
  • Provide monthly forecasts of project revenue, GP margin, cost and completion milestones
  • Interpret prime and second tier contract requirements
  • Implement project risk analysis related to cost and/or schedule
  • Support risk management activities via commercial flow down requirements to sub-contractors
  • Interpret technical documents for estimating and change management.
  • Assist Project Managers in the logging, tracking, mitigation of risk, and development of approved change orders

What you'll need:
  • Work Experience: 7 years previous experience in a project specialist or similar role working on processes or projects with multiple vendors, timelines, and budgets
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office Skills; basic understanding of project accounting principles and processes, advanced knowledge of scheduling or costing tools, procedures and processes
  • Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to organize and manage multiple priorities; time management skills
