The ESP Program Lead is responsible for the performance, reliability, and continuous optimization of the company's Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems across the portfolio. This is a field based role that leads the strategy, execution, and technical oversight of the ESP program, working closely with production engineering, field operations, and service providers to optimize production, improve reliability, reduce downtime, and lower operating costs.
The successful candidate combines strong artificial lift expertise with a results-oriented mindset and field leadership translating technical analysis into actionable field improvements while driving standardization and best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
ESP Program Strategy & Performance Surveillance and Execution
Build, lead, and supports development of ESP optimization and equipment design strategies to optimize cash flow.

Build and implement ownership model of ESP program between field operations, engineering, and vendors to clarify roles and responsibilities.

Implement proactive surveillance workflows to proactively address opportunities to improve performance or reduce downtime.

Leads root cause analysis for ESP failures including tracking failures mechanisms across the entire program and leading execution of operational or equipment improvements.

Establish / monitor enterprise ESP KPIs including failure modes, run life, deferred production, and operating efficiency including quality assurance of input information.


Program Execution & Operations Support
Coordinate ESP installations and replacements with field operations, engineering teams, and vendors.
Owns best practices for equipment installation to improve run life and performance with workover team.
Primary point of contact for field on real-time troubleshooting and field diagnostics for both surface and subsurface equipment.

Manages all purchased ESP inventory including material transfers between wells, equipment quality specifications, and optimization of available equipment for reuse.

Optimizes usages of 3rd party monitoring or failure analysis through developing in-house capability or setting standard process for utilization of services.
Vendor & Technology Management
Manage relationships with ESP service providers including performance reviews with engineering and operations teams.

Leads ESP program bids to optimize service quality, delivery, and cost across the program.
Lead or support evaluating new ESP technologies, monitoring systems, and design improvements to enhance program performance and lead execution of field integration of any trial
Drives and manages standardization of equipment specifications, operating procedures, and design practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as the internal technical authority for ESP systems.
Mentor field operations on artificial lift design, optimization, and troubleshooting to improve uptime and support development.
Work cross-functionally with operations, facilities, and reservoir teams to deliver integrated well performance improvements.
Qualifications
Strong experience with ESP design, diagnostics, failure analysis, and optimization.
Demonstrated ability to translate technical analysis into field-level operational improvements.
Experience working with ESP vendors and managing artificial lift programs across multiple wells.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
