Overview

Director Product Integrity

The Product Integrity Director will lead the governance, and execution of all quality, compliance, and safety initiatives across the retail product portfolio. This role ensures that all products meet the highest standards for performance, durability, ethical sourcing, and regulatory compliance. As a director, this individual will partner with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Technical Design, Legal, and Supply Chain to drive customer trust, brand protection, and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities Product Quality & Safety
  • Establish and oversee the product integrity framework, including quality standards, testing protocols, and inspection processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all global product safety regulations, labeling laws, and industry standards.
  • Lead corrective action programs to address quality or compliance issues swiftly and effectively.
Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team of quality, compliance, and technical experts.
  • Provide executive-level insights on product integrity risks, opportunities, and performance metrics.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to proactively monitor regulatory changes and industry developments.
  • Partner with overseas quality teams and vendors to align on expectations, inspection results and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mitigate risks related to recalls, safety incidents, and reputational damage through preventive action and crisis management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Product Development, Merchandising, and Design to embed integrity standards early in the product lifecycle.
  • Work with Sourcing and Supply Chain to ensure supplier capability, performance, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability/ESG teams to integrate responsible material use, traceability, and ethical sourcing into the integrity framework.
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Leverage data analytics to identify trends in defects, returns, and customer feedback, driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on product performance, compliance, and risk exposure.
  • Champion a culture of operational excellence and integrity across the enterprise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in product integrity, quality assurance, compliance, or technical product leadership, preferably in retail, apparel or consumer goods.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams and managing global supplier relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory standards (CPSC, CPSIA, REACH, Prop 65, etc.).
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive change in a complex, fast-paced environment.
