GENERAL SUMMARY:
The mission of Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education is to create opportunities for under-resourced youth of the Greater Philadelphia Region to prosper in life. The intended impact is that participating youth will become Snider student-athletes with age-appropriate social-emotional strengths and skills to succeed and contribute as students, employees, and community members.
The Program Evaluation Coordinator will strengthen Snider's culture of learning by collecting and analyzing data to generate insights that drive impact. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and organizational skills to manage data collection, analysis, and reporting. Equally important, candidates must exhibit outstanding communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other members of the Evaluation & Strategy Team as well as colleagues and stakeholders across the organization to improve the quality of Snider programs and enhance the strength of our evaluation work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program Evaluation Coordinator will play a key role in helping Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education understand and improve the impact of our programs. By collecting, analyzing, and sharing data, the successful candidate will work to ensure Snider programs continue to create meaningful outcomes for the young people and families we serve.
In this role, you will:
- Support the implementation of our organizational Theory of Change by helping develop and refine meaningful indicators that measure participant growth and program impact.
- Coordinate the development, distribution, collection, tracking, and organization of surveys, assessments, focus groups, and other evaluation tools across the organization.
- Lead high-quality data collection efforts across multiple program locations, ensuring data is collected consistently, accurately, and on schedule.
- Build strong relationships with program staff by providing training, resources, and ongoing support that promote effective data collection practices.
- Analyze program data and transform findings into clear, engaging reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support organizational learning and decision-making.
- Conduct external research on youth development, education, sports-based youth development, and nonprofit evaluation to identify best practices, emerging trends, and benchmarking opportunities.
- Collect qualitative and quantitative information directly from participants, families, and staff through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations.
- Monitor progress toward organizational Learning Agenda goals and assist in measuring outcomes throughout the program year.
- Utilize Salesforce and other data systems to build reports, dashboards, surveys, and data collection tools that improve program evaluation and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to foster a culture of continuous learning, evidence-based decision making, and program improvement.
- Contribute to special evaluation, research, and strategic projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
- One to two years of relevant experience in program evaluation, research, data analysis, education, nonprofit organizations, or a related field. Relevant internships, research assistantships, and significant academic projects are encouraged to apply.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate data and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with a foundational understanding of research methods and statistics.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Experience facilitating surveys, interviews, focus groups, or other forms of qualitative data collection.
- Comfortable presenting information, facilitating trainings, and supporting staff across multiple program sites.
- Ability to build positive relationships with diverse populations, including youth, families, volunteers, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Salesforce or another customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
- Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
- Familiarity with statistical software such as R, SPSS, or similar analytical tools.
- Understanding of logic models, program evaluation frameworks, outcomes measurement, or Theory of Change methodologies.
- Experience conducting literature reviews or applied research to inform program design and evaluation.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful applicants must be able to pass the Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

INTELLECTUAL AND SOCIAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. The position requires constant attention to precise details and specified standards, including: following simple to complex (more than three steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee will regularly operate a computer and other office devices such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc. The employee will occasionally move about inside office space to access storage areas, cabinets, and office machinery. Local driving in support of work-related projects is necessary. Position will require occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or moving.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The essential responsibilities of this position are primarily performed indoors, mainly in an office setting but including regular visits to ice hockey rinks, schools, community centers, and special event sites (indoor/outdoor in the weather conditions prevalent at the time). The noise level in these work environments can range from moderate to loud during events/programs and is minimal during non-event/program times.
SCHEDULE:
Work will be a combination of in-office or remote day work in addition to attending night/weekend programming. After School and travel programs typically run from 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM most evenings, and attendance at some of these weekly sessions may be required to perform your job.
