Healthy Pet has an immediate opening in our Jesup, GA plant for a Production Shift Supervisor on the night shift. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Balance and work to continuously improve safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and compliance with state and federal regulations. Regularly conduct or participate in safety audits and training meetings. Document completion of job and safety training required. Track quarterly Safety Bonus requirements. Monitor and maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment.
  • Responsible for quality assurance and control of finished goods. Monitor material quality throughout production. Ensure adherence to product specifications. Audit quality documentation to ensure compliance. Provide feedback to personnel on quality issues.
  • Perform scheduling and communication of staff and daily production to meet production and shipping requirements. Control and minimize labor overtime and expenses.
  • Participate in the selection of new employees. Plan, assign, train, supervise and evaluate work of staff. Ensure compliance of Company policies and procedures. Conduct performance evaluations to guide the development of employees and provide a record of performance. Ensure effective employee relations. Initiate and document disciplinary actions as approved by HR.
  • Conduct daily staff communication meetings. Effectively communicate expectations, output, status and achievements on productivity and safety in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Verify forklift, HAZMAT, LOTO certifications. Verify appropriate staff, as required, hold all other mandatory certifications.
  • Promote lean principles. Work with other departments and assist with the creation or updating and implementing of process improvement procedures, tasks, workflows and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Three years' successful management and supervision, including staffing, training, coaching, directing, coordinating and evaluating in a process manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and successful application of lean manufacturing concepts and techniques preferred.
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment, analytical and problem-solving techniques to make reasoned, timely, consistent decisions and facilitate effective problem resolution.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
