Job description

Production Shift Supervisor - Night (hourly)
Job Summary:
In charge of overseeing operations, maintaining a safe working environment while assigning tasks, resolving problems, and making sure that the shift runs smoothly.
Essential Functions:
  • Personal conduct and leadership consistent with the EJP Vision, Mission, Core Values and Pillars.
  • Lead team by demonstrating a commitment to everyone's safety and ensure safety with all activities.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Engage the workforce to address on-going issues. Assist with identifying necessary resources to enable the team to resolve those issues or identify interim containment actions until the issue can be resolved.
  • Complete daily report focusing on Safety, Quality, Labor, and Delivery.
  • Conduct daily audits for Safety, Quality, Labor and Delivery of work zones, 5S compliance, and LOTO compliance. Document audits and submit for record.
  • Daily Process/Startup Troubleshooting for quality optimization.
  • Monitor progress towards achieving the Production Schedule throughout the shift. Properly identify and communicate any issues to scheduler / senior leadership that will impact achieving shift schedule for corrective measures.
  • Daily handoff with peer Supervisor at shift change.
  • Proactively provide input / suggestions to improve safety, schedule execution, quality, and / or minimize downtime.
  • Conduct necessary coaching and counseling of employees including leading or participating in the progressive disciplinary process.
  • Identify employees with potential for advancement and create opportunities for training and / or development.
  • Maintain HRIS time keeping program, correcting exceptions, and approving of time off request.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate as needed.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving.
  • Familiarity with computer programming, Office Suite, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts

  • Operations dashboard metrics
  • Technical levels advancement for area assigned.
  • Team development technically and in leadership
  • Continuous improvement project execution as assigned by job level.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience as Shift Supervisor in manufacturing or similar role.
  • Technical experience in Thermoforming or Injection Molding (preferred, not required).

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, and climbing.
  • Able to use hand tools, lift 50lbs, bend, reach, squat, sit, stand, and utilize ladders.
  • Able to lift and move 50 lbs.
