Job description

We are looking for a Project and Engineering Manager for our growing process engineering company.  Our company is growing rapidly within the food and beverage industry and we need an experienced project and engineering manager.  We work with nationally recognized companies on the shelves of your local grocery store, and more are calling weekly as we continue to develop and execute projects successfully.  

This position will be one of the first positions hired for our east coast office, based in Holly Springs, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for project success, customer satisfaction, and technical project execution and delivery
  • Manages project and company risk  through collaboration with the project team and customer(s)
  • Oversees and develops scoping, planning, estimating, scheduling, resource planning, and procurement activities for all projects, including integration with non-project work during major outages
  • Coordinates engineering resources by working proactively with company leadership and contracted resources to complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensures that a comprehensive, current scope of work and division of responsibility is maintained to include all vendors and company scopes
  • Maintain all electronic project files
  • Run multiple projects concurrently and lead weekly project meetings
  • Lead development and management of specific portions of project budget and schedule
  • Ensure deadlines and cost targets are met
  • Maintain required project documentation 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in project management
  • 3-5 years in engineering management
  • Experience in assembling engineering plans for submittal to the authorities having jurisdiction (city plan check)
  • Previous experience in food and beverage manufacturing
  • Previous experience in packaging automation
  • Previous experience in controls design and automation
  • Must have good technical and cost management skills
  • Must have the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously over a large geographic territory, and handle stakeholder teams representing different departments and interests
  • Ability to coordinate processes and project leadership in difficult/complex client situations
  • Physical requirements for the position require the ability to bend, squat, occupy crawl spaces, work over open grating, not afraid of heights, and confined space areas
  • The position will be exposed to the following work conditions: cold weather, hot weather, dust, grease, loud noise, outdoors, temporary work locations, corporate office work, refrigerated rooms, freezing rooms, etc.
