Marathon Petroleum Company's Catlettsburg Refinery located in Catlettsburg, KY is seeking aProcess EngineerI/II.The Process Engineer will report to the Process Engineering Manager, and monitors process performance andidentifiesopportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability as well asassistingin planning test runs and developing projects to address opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitors process performance andidentifyopportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability.Assistsin planning test runs anddevelopsprojects to address opportunities.

  • Supports collaboration with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges. Develops relationships with console and field operators.

  • Participates in hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and management of change.

  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).

  • Supports turnaround/outage execution. May review turnaround planning, including scope development and post-event evaluations.

  • Maintains and updates process documentation.

  • Troubleshoots andmaintainsunit mass balance within tolerance.

  • Participates in technology advisory groups.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future

  • Must be able to wearappropriate PPEin the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years or more of experience in processengineering within refining, petrochemical, or related industries

SKILLS
  • Excel, Process Simulation Software
