Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership in assembly line design, tooling, equipment commissioning, and shop-floor digital systems. In this position, you will own the full equipment lifecycle from drafting User Requirement Specifications (URS) and designing custom jigs and fixtures in AutoCAD/3D CAD, to conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) / Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), line balancing, workplace ergonomics, and seamless Manufacturing Execution System (MES) integration.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- ESSENTIAL
  • Equipment Spec-Out, Vendor Management & FAT/SAT:Develop technical User Requirement Specifications (URS), functional specs, and RFQs for automated, semi-automated, and manual manufacturing equipment. Manage equipment suppliers through design reviews, fabrication, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), on-site installation, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) / commissioning.
  • Tooling, Jigs & Fixture Design (AutoCAD / 3D CAD):Design, detail, and prototype custom assembly jigs, holding fixtures, ergonomic workstations, and go/no-go gauges using AutoCAD and 3D CAD. Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to maximize repeatability and operational efficiency.
  • Workplace Design, Layout & Ergonomics:Develop optimize shop-floor cell layouts, line balancing, and material flow using AutoCAD. Apply 5S, Lean cell design, and ergonomic safety standards (NIOSH/OSHA) to eliminate waste, improve takt time, and minimize operator fatigue.
  • MES Integration & Shop-Floor Digitization:Partner with IT and Automation teams to integrate Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) across lines. Map operational routing, configure electronic Work Instructions (eWI), implement automated part traceability/genealogy, and enable real-time key performance metrics (OEE, yield, downtime).
  • Continuous Improvement & Quality Systems:Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) using 8D and 5-Why tools. Execute Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and statistical process control (SPC) under formal Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Management of Change (MOC) protocols.
  • Project Management : Lead NPI as liaison between Program team and Operations from seeding to full production, lead special projects including capex to meeting operational requirements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications:

Industry Experience:

5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling design, production support, NPI, industrial automation, and management of change.

CAD & Fixture Design

Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D layout) and 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Creo) for custom jig, fixture, and tooling design.

Demonstrated success in writing equipment specifications, managing machine vendors, and executing FAT/SAT protocols.

Workplace & Line Design

Proven track record in line balancing, ergonomic workstation design, 5S implementation, and material flow optimization.

Direct experience configuring or executing workflows within a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) (e.g., SAP MES, Camstar, Plex).

Quality & Problem Solving

Hands-on expertise in PFMEA, 8D RCA, CAPA execution, SPC capability analysis (Cp/Cpk), and QMS compliance (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IATF 16949).

Preferred Qualification:

Automation& PLC:Familiarity with PLC/SCADA architecture, automated assembly cells, or robotics integration. Change Management:Experience leading complex equipment modifications under formal Management of Change (MOC) workflows. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
