WHAT WEโ€™RE LOOKING FOR

As the Financial Controller, youโ€™ll be responsible for managing and optimizing our financial operations. This includes overseeing all financial aspects of the business from financial compliance to managing all financial statements, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), M&A activities, and assisting with the preparation for board reporting. This position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with all departments for financial compliance.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

    • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial transaction processing and reconciliation.
    • Direct responsibility for the General Ledger as well as all financial reporting.

    • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and manage financial risks effectively.
  • Financial Strategy and Growth Initiatives:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies that support business growth and expansion.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial insights for decision-making.
  • Audit and Taxation:
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
    • Ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with tax obligations.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA highly preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial management role within construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of ASC606.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting standards, cost accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) and other ERP systems; Advanced in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
  • High proficiency with reconciliations.
