Job description

A Pipeline Engineer designs and supports the installation of high-pressure natural gas pipelines. The role ensures pipelines are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry regulations and company standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design pipeline routes, layouts, and valve locations.
  • Plan pipeline crossings for rivers, highways, and interstates.
  • Perform engineering calculations for pressure, stress, temperature changes, soil loads, and seismic impacts.
  • Select pipe materials, coatings, and construction methods.
  • Prepare engineering documents, calculations, and project reports.
  • Support material procurement, project scheduling, budgeting, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with drafting, environmental, right-of-way, and corrosion-control teams.


Required Skills

  • Knowledge of pipeline engineering, steel pipe materials, and construction practices.
  • Understanding of pipeline regulations (including CFR Part 192).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering analysis software.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • 4–7 years of relevant pipeline, oil & gas, utility, or infrastructure engineering experience.
