As a pipeline technician, your responsibilities focus on the maintenance, testing, and repair of oil or gas pipelines. Your duties also include the detection of leaks and other problems that compromise the safety and integrity of pipes. Your responsibilities involve using instruments and computer programs to detect issues. You can also repair leaks or work on valves, pumps, instruments, and other equipment that are a part of the pipeline structure. As a pipeline technician, you also perform anti-corrosion activities. Most positions require traveling along a pipeline and performing work outdoors in all conditions.
