Job description

Niural is the AI-native global PEO for the modern workforce. Our mission is to give every growing company enterprise-grade payroll, benefits, and compliance without the enterprise overhead. Built from scratch rather than retrofitted onto legacy systems, Niural combines payroll, PEO/ASO, global EOR, benefits, and vendor payments into one intelligent platform. Powered by EMMA, our AI coworker that executes — not just advises — Niural runs payroll and compliance across 150+ countries with near-perfect accuracy. Backed by a $52M Series A and $200M+ in annualized gross revenue on our PEO product alone, we're building the financial infrastructure that companies run their businesses on.

Position Summary

The Tax Specialist supports the U.S. PEO Tax team with day-to-day payroll tax administration, including account setup, rate maintenance, filings, reconciliations, and workers' compensation reporting. This role keeps tax account information accurate and current, provides filing support, and ensures compliance across all payroll tax operations.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, reliable follow-through, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced payroll tax environment.

  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end tax processing activities
  • Work with internal teams to resolve tax setup, filing, and rate issues
  • Help document and improve tax team processes
  • Provide general operational and administrative support to the U.S. PEO Tax team
  • Assist with tax filing
  • Work comp reporting
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll, tax, accounting, finance operations, or compliance support required
  • Experience supporting U.S. payroll tax processes is required
  • Familiarity with SUTA, PFML, state tax accounts, or workers’ compensation is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage repetitive, deadline-driven work with consistency
  • Comfortable working in spreadsheets, trackers, and internal systems
  • Ability to escalate issues timely and follow through to resolution
